Falling in Love in Koh SaMui

Beaches can be deceiving. Fact 2: When hiding under the shades, you may be deceived that you looked better tanned. Thailand. You are like a girlfriend that I would soon learn to despise. My first trip there was when my love affair began with HIM. It was our very first trip together. Everything looked great and sweet. Only as I keep seeing other sides of you, the hatred began. So, for this time around I will let you digest my story in Koh SaMui as far as I can recall. On my flight to Bangkok, seated few rows behind me, was an amazingly hot gay-look-alike-but-checked out-my-breast-guy. So he left me a wee bit confused. This was my first flight alone. Halfway, fear erupts. What if he doesn’t show up? What if later he is not in Bangkok and he text later “GOTCHA!” Paranoid thoughts ran through my head. **In my wallet, less than enough. Even as I told the guy sitting next to me that I am unable to call the HIM or know where he is, he looked GENUINELY panicked. And offered me his number, in any emergency cases usage only. Then, I arrived. I keep looking at the back row seat guy ass, until I didn’t realize, there he was in his suit. Looking a million times better than what I keep picturing in my head. When its your first, it can be extremely sweet. People keep-passing remark how gorgeous I am supposed to be. And I was yet to be annoyed at how much people thought I was actually Thai. We stayed in Bangkok where everything was closed, so we stayed in the room in HILTON, where he told me he was falling for me. We messed up the room within seconds. Then in the morning we rushed, to the airport. Fell asleep when there was construction @ the waiting area. And missed our flight to Surat Thani. Those “Thai Sundals Stewardess” was not at all nice to me! To cut short the love story details I’ll draw you some memorable images from my head of Thailand and him. Upon arrival in KohSaMui- we moved the day bed That was my first time being able to c** He piggy back me as we went to dinner so that my feet won’t get wet While he was drunk, in the middle of the road he stopped and told me he loved me

We were at the beach when he looked at me and told me, I knew it! I knew I would find you, and you will be the one that would make me doubt.

We had the last surviving fish for dinner, which we both find hilarious The view was amazing He was staring while I put on my make up and telling me how he wanted to remember every detail I was in the Jacuzzi as he sat out there and asking me all my stories He asked me “How much” when he was not conscious

We partied in Koh Sa Mui, at this club that I cannot remember its name. What I recall was they played the same music over and over again, but we were having too much of a blast.I remember smiling the whole time. And everytime I leave his sight, he gets in a fight.

Then come the day I had to say goodbye to Koh Sa Mui, and him. This is where it all begin. And I was scared, because I know, I could fall for him. **HE – we met in KL where we spend amazing few days together. Then he asked me to go away with him and I agreed. My ex – March 07- March 08. You will see he will be mentioned in most of the travel stories.

Short & Brief - Changes You....

Fact No 2: When you are already carrying excess baggage from home - do not bring back any foreign items. Leave it at the front desk. No complications. Fuss-Free. BALI - will always hold a sentimental value for me. This is where it all began. It all started when my friend got back from working in the desert field decided that she wanted to go meet her friend in BALI. When she came back to KL and told me this I jumped at the thought. There was boundaries trust me! First there was work. I applied my leave immediately and book my tickets as soon as I can get a hold of INTERNET. Bosses were quite reluctant, but since I never took off, they complied. Well, they are humans with compassions after all. And of course, during that time, I was in a long ass relationship that have reach it comfortable zone. He freaked out. But I manage to get my way. After all, it is my life. And yes, we were in a lot of fights. This is the time off that I have been aching for. So, it was I, she and the other girl. On the flight, we were giggling like a bunch of high school monkeys that have yet to graduate from the retard class. That’s when we caught his attention. Lone Traveler – he was in BALI to learn how to surf. Months later we bump into each other in KL- found out he fell in love with BALI too… and a Puerto Rican double D size titties chick that he met bumped into at KUTA beach. Ok…. back to Bali. We had no idea what to expect. Met some old Australian while we were eating who claimed that he loved THE WOMEN in BALI. (Guess he’s never been to THAILAND). Been staying there for years and offered to drive us around. But we were to scare because the pimples on his lips looks like some sort of STD-went-public. Then we met this Australian couple, which was impressed at the fact that “ Wow you guys speak English.” Yeah, yeah, we can jump and do YMCA too! Sigh Then I experienced my first foam party. Imagine … First time out of Malaysia without my chain and my mommy. All around – heavenly surfers body- and cheap alcohol. And – for the first time- these weird non-Malaysian- non-Asian- hot bod and tanned surfers seem to think I was – what’s the word- painfully exotically hot – or they are just on Holiday High Horniness. Then as the dude that I met on the plane, left to hit the hay after some light flirting, I started sliding around in the foam area. I got my leg grabbed, fell in, picked up by strangers and threw into foams of bubbles. Then as I was dancing, there he was. My Robin. The one that would always leave me a smile when I reminisce. I don’t even remember his name or how he looks like. But damn… we started dancing, and the next thing I know, she was smiling next to me with my other friend laughing. Being the loyal one, the girls thought they needed to take care of me. Seeing window of opportunity, they all went hunting! Persistently asking me to go away with him, we ended up walking around the area barefoot. What happens later, I’ll leave to your imagination…. Insisting to see more, I just told him, I’ll see him when I see him as I agreed on surf lessons on the day I’ll be in KL. But oh how I was smitten with him! But that was the end of it. At least this way, he’ll always remain perfect to me! The next day, I ended up alone watching the semi finals of World Cup with a bunch of strangers. I think 2 European and 1 Australian. They bet they have on – damn!! It was hilarious. Had few drinks with them and bid them goodnight. They smiled and said something nice as I happily prance the empty road 25 minutes away from the hotel. Funny part, the next day, a 19 y old adorable South African kid tried this line on me " Ive never kissed an Asian". Tough luck kid, you ain't kissing one tonite! Last day, I spent sitting on the beach looking at waves for couple of hours before I went back to my room to pack and leave. This is where my love affair with the beach started. Funny though, like any other Asian, I pack my face with enough sunblock for a year and sat quietly under the shade. Once I got back to KL. I wanted more…. xoxo Rollo Tomassi

That Sterile Neighbour without a Personality

Sterile – I couldn’t smoke in the club. Do take into consideration; this is my first time out of KL.
It was like a clean, techie- geek without personality. That’s how I look at it.
However, nevertheless, I got excited when I saw the box of cigarettes (although priced at a rate that would push me to poverty and quitting) with the gory images.
I was actually scared of going in, wondering if they would pull me aside and refuse my entry. Until today, I still have this fear wherever I go. I was not there long. It was only half a day. Watched the gig. Record the metal music and went back to M’sia.
Spent the next few days slumming in duty free section in Johore. And my memories of that place involved the drama that happened before we came over, sleeping on the floor, late night black jacks, the oh so delicious NASI AYAM and of course me + him against the window overlooking S’pore. But then again, the NASI AYAM still beat all the rest of the memories. Ahaks!

Relations with the passport

FACT 1:
Don't hold emotional value over any MATERIAL items!
Passport can be a bitch. I never got any until the age of 18. It took only a day and I look as idiotic as I do right now. And yes, everyone kept snickering when they took my height down. And worse, until today, when I get through officials, I need to take off my glasses, pull my hair up to prove it is I! However, my passport seems to hold a control over me at least tells the story of my emotional intoxicated relationships. See, the first time I did my passport was to follow my rockstar to Singapore. His passport number will be one number after mine, and his expiry date will be the same day as mine. Even when we no longer talk to one another for more than 5 minutes now. Let alone look at each other.
When I went to Bali- the day before I stamped it out - was one of my favourite memories. I'll never remember his name- I'll call him ROBIN as long as I can remember vaguely how he looks like. But because of that- it change something weird in me. And made me realize some other couple of things. See, I may not remember his name- or whats-ever. But i definitely have a grin when we talk about Bali, or when i stumble upon that stamp in the passport.
And as I was running from one airport to another last year - I did it in comfort of seeing HIM- the coked up auditor. Even as my last trip as of right now- the stamp reminds me how I lie at the airport as much as it hurt me.
So yeah. My passport will remain my best-treasured item because it has one f**ked way of stamping my love life on it. And it is one hell-a bitch to me!!!
